Charity Day

Ahead of what would have been her 18th birthday, Lipstick and Locks salon in Sudbury is staging an open day on Sunday, April 10, from 9am until 3pm.

The North Street-based business in Sudbury, which Maddy worked at as an apprentice, is offering hair cuts, wash and blow drys and eyebrow waxing, in return for donations to Cardiac Risk in the Young (Cry).

The charity raises awareness of heart conditions and organises cardiac screenings for young people.

Leonie Bradford, event co-ordinator for Lipstick and Locks, was Maddy’s godmother and knew her from a very young age.

“She has left a massive gap in our lives,” she told the Free Press. “She was a big personality and had so much talent.

“Her picture is on the wall at the salon, so she is watching over us. Everyone misses her dreadfully.”

Maddy’s mum Kelly, dad Chris and sisters Darcy and Summer have also organised a memorial charity ball, taking place at Marks Tey Hotel in Essex on Friday, April 22.
